Camiel C. Strobbe

Camiel C. Strobbe, age 93 of Moline died Friday, May 19, 2006 at the Davenport Lutheran Home.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 23, 2006 at Homewood Evangelical Free Church, Moline with a visitation from 10:00a.m. until service time. Burial is in Rose Lawn Memorial Estate, Moline. Memorials may be made to Homewood Evangelical Free Church . Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. is assisting the family.
Camiel was born April 8, 1913 in Moline, the son of Charles and Hermanie Van Bel Strobbe. He married Kathryn Soelzer on March 19, 1937 in Moline. She preceded him in death on March 20, 1994.
Camiel was employed as a custodian in the Moline school district retiring in 1978. He was a member of Homewood Evangelical Free Church where he was very involved in church activities. Camiel worked in a CCC camp in the 1930"s in Oregon. He also enjoyed reading and loved to build things.

10 Grandchildren; 5 Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by 4 sisters: Mary Stevens, Madeline Nelson, Margaret Phipps & Celesta Koss.
