Carl H. Carlson, 95, of Rock Island, died Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M Saturday April 3, 2010 at First Evangelical Free Church, 3321 7th Street, Moline. Visitation will be Friday from 4-7 P.M. at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Burial will be on Monday, April 5, 2010 at 10:30 A.M. at National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. Anyone wishing to attend the graveside service should be at the funeral home at 9:30 A.M. Memorials may be made to First Evangelical Free Church or to Christian Friendliness.
Carl was born on February 1, 1915 in Chicago to Carl Peter and Anna Wickstrom Carlson. He married Effie Molter on September 13, 1945 in Chicago. She died on August 14, 2000. Carl worked as a lithographer for the former Desaulniers Printing Company, retiring at the age of seventy. He was a member of First Evangelical Free Church, Moline, where he served as trustee and usher. He was also a World War II Army veteran. Carl was a man of kindness and humility. He loved the Lord and was devoted to his family.
