Carl Herman Olson Jr

Carl H. Olson, Jr., 88, of Batavia, IL, formerly of Moline, went to be with his Lord on January 4, 2013 at The Holmstad's Michaelson Health Center in Batavia.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 7 at First Covenant Church, Moline. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 PM on Sunday, January 6, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to First Covenant Church or the Holmstad Benevolent Fund.

Carl was born on May 29, 1924, in Moline, IL, the son of Carl H. and Viola L. (Sellnow) Olson, Sr. He married June M. Bolin on September 22, 1944, at First Covenant Church in Moline.

Carl worked as a Utilities Control Operator for Deere & Co., retiring in 1989. He was a United States Navy Veteran of WWII and the Korean War. He was a Trustee Board Chair at First Covenant Church and the Secretary/Treasurer of the USS Chaplin Reunions. He served on the Friendship Manor Board.
