Carmela Catherine Berry, 90, of Tampa FL, formerly of Moline, died August 25, 2008 in Tampa, FL.
Rite of Christian Burial will be 9: 30 a.m. Thursday, September 4, 2008 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Moline. Visitation will be from 3-6 p.m. with a rosary recited at 3 p.m Wednesday at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Ave., Moline. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association.
Carmela was born May 8, 1918 in Pittsburgh, PA to John and Theresa (Brunetta) Minnitte. She married William G. Berry on April 29, 1943. He preceded her in death on March 6, 1992.
Carmela was a former member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Moline where she was a member, and officer of the Altar and Rosary Society. She was also a member of Home Extension where she held office as a secretary. Further memberships include Kings Daughters, Blackhawk Hiking Club and Catholic Order of Foresters. In her earlier years she served as Den Mother and room mother.
