Carol Frieda Hansen

Carol Frieda Hansen, 81, of Moline, passed away Friday, July 19, 2019, at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 26, 2019, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline.  Burial will be at Western Township Cemetery at 2:00 p.m.  Memorials may be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.

Carol was born on May 22, 1938, at her family’s farmhouse in Colona Township, Illinois, the daughter of Herman and Stella (Neumann) Hansen.  She retired after 40 years as the school secretary at Wilson Junior High School in the Moline Public School District.

Carol was an active member at Holy Cross Lutheran Church and was a very giving person.  She enjoyed jazz and blues music and would attend the Bix Festival every year.  Carol enjoyed showing friends and family the landmarks in Illinois and Iowa.  In earlier years she enjoyed board games and playing cards with her nieces and nephew.  Carol would swim almost every day.

Survivors include her sister, Pearl Bierbaum; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Stella; brother, Dean; and sister, Ruth.
