Carol Marie Larsen, 76, of Moline, IL, passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2012 peacefully in her home surrounded by her family after a courageous and hard fought battle with Parkinson's.
Funeral Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1330 13th Street, Moline. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Friday at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Entombment will be at Moline Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church.
Carol was born on June 9, 1936 in Moline, IL, the daughter of Charles and Lucille (Hoff) Axel. She married Frederick W. Larsen on December 23, 1955 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Moline. He preceded her in death on December 31, 2011.
Carol graduated from Moline High School in 1954, she then graduated from Black Hawk College, received her Bachelor's Degree from Marycrest College and her Master's Degree from Western Illinois University. Carol was employed with the Davenport Schools working as a teacher and librarian at Grant Elementary, retiring in 1993. She was a member of the Retired Iowa Teachers Association, King's Daughters, Trinity Lutheran Church and the Anna Unit. Carol enjoyed taking part in the Friday Night Club. She loved shopping in Chicago, traveling to Florida, California and Lake Geneva where she enjoyed the beach. Carol faithfully attended her Grandchildren's sporting events and above all treasured spending time with her beloved friends and family.
In her memory, her sons and their families would like to carry on her longtime holiday traditions.
