Cecil W. Snyder, age 89 of Silvis, formerly of Moline died Tuesday, November 8, 2005 at Trinity Medical Center-West Campus, Rock Island.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 11, 2005 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Moline. Visitation is Thursday from 4-6 p.m. at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Ave., Moline. Burial is inGreenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Military rites will be conducted by Moline American Legion Post #243. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, Moline.
Cecil was born June 24, 1916 in Alpha, IL. the son of Elias and Mae Woolley Snyder. He married Ruth Nelson on June 22, 1938 in North Henderson.
Cecil worked for 32 years as a welder for Ametek and later worked as a janitor for Montgomery Elevator.
Cecil was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Moline. He was a World War II navy veteran, and a member of V.F.W. Post # 2153 in Moline. Cecil enjoyed watching the Cubs, and was a fan of basketball.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Paula Anderson in 2003; brothers Nyle and Ward; and sister Pearl Kling.
