Celia Jane Lindgren, age 93, formerly of Orion, died Friday, February 10, 2012 at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln, IL.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 18, 2012 at St. Paul Lutheran Church 1001-9th Street, Orion. Visitation is from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Friday at the church. Burial is at Lutheran Cemetery, Orion. Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Orion. Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Ltd. Orion is assisting the family.
Celia was born March 29, 1918 in Moline, the daughter of Carl and Pearl (Sandahl) Anderson. She married Dale E. "Andy" Lindgren on June 9, 1939 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Orion. He preceded her in death on November 20, 1981.
Celia and Andy were co-owners of Meadow Lanes Bowling Alley in Orion where she loved bowling and enjoyed cooking and being a waitress for over 30 years. She was also a farm wife and homemaker. Celia was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Orion, where she was active in WELCA and a member of the Carnation Circle, the Friendly Stitchers, a Sunday school teacher, and a former Cub Scout Den Leader. She also was a member of several card clubs. Celia was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She loved her God, family, friends, and church.
