Charles Christopher Calkins, age 64, of Moline, died Saturday, December 1, 2007 at Trinity Medical Center, West Campus, Rock Island.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at Christ Episcopal Church, Moline. Visitation is from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Avenue, Moline. Memorials may be made to Christ Episcopal Church or Moline Dad's Club.
Chuck was born January 17, 1943 in Oak Park, IL the son of Jonathan and Lorna (Cadman) Calkins. He married Karen Swanson on July 1, 1972 in Rock Island
Chuck was employed as a customer service agent for Fed-Ex. He was also employed as a Snap-On dealer in Moline and East Moline for 30 years, retiring in 1997. Chuck was chairman for Moline Dad's Club Halloween Parade for 20 years. He announced games at Stephens Park and volunteered as an announcer at Illinois fast pitch softball games. Chuck was a member of Christ Episcopal Church where he taught Sunday school.
