Charles "Charley" Fowler

Charles “Charley” Fowler, 84, of Silvis went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Friday, November 10, 2023, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

A funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. on Friday November 17, 2023, at the First Baptist Church, 1101 10th Avenue, Silvis.  Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. in Moline.  A graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. (CST) on Saturday at the Spurgeon Cemetery in Spurgeon, Indiana.  Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, Silvis.

Charley was born on November 1, 1939, in Spurgeon, Indiana, the son of Clyde and Lou E. Thompson Fowler.  He married his childhood sweetheart and the true love of his life, Ruth Ann Mason on August 22, 1959, in Spurgeon Indiana.

Charley was employed as a Senior Designer in Product Engineering with John Deere.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Silvis.  Charley was a member of the Cornbelt Running Club, he loved running, biking, and helping his family.  His greatest passion in life was telling everyone he met about the good news of Jesus Christ.

Charley is survived by his wife, Ruth; daughter, Jennifer (Brian) Scott; grandchildren, Dr. London R. Scott and Carley (Rev. Alex) Turkmani; great grandchildren, Elam, Emrys, Felicity and Farren; brother, Jack (Linda) Fowler.

Charley was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Tadd and 2 sisters.
