Charles L. Hanna, 85, of Moline, died Thursday, January 22, 2009, at his home.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2009 at Salem Lutheran Church, Moline. Visitation will be Monday, Jan. 26, 2009 from 4-6 p.m. at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Ave., Moline. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Salem Lutheran Church or High Flight Fund at the Moline Foundation (a scholarship program for young aviators).
Mr. Hanna was born May 17, 1923 in Rock Island County to Leslie and Grace (Brennan) Hanna. He married Virginia Carlson Pittman on March 5, 1955 in Moline. She preceded him in death on August 14, 2002.
Mr. Hanna served in the United States Air Force. He was employed for 21 years as a pilot for Bear Manufacturing Company, Rock Island. He then was employed at AMC, retiring in 1987. Mr. Hanna was an active member of Salem Lutheran Church, Moline.
