Charles Silas Jacob Jennings, 69, of East Moline, died in his home on November 22, 2005. He spent his final hours in comfort with his family all around him. This was his night and we respected him in it. He was a great man who left behind his loving wife and family. We were all there for him as well as for each other.
He served in the Air Force during the Korean War and was a member of Local 309, retiring in 1995. He married Norma Jean Culp on August 23, 1991 in Rock Island. Charles was born in his parents home on May 20, 1936 to Crystal Verdia Lewis and Charles Palmer Silas Jennings in Moline.
He has left behind his wife Norma Jean Jennings, his children Arthur Eugene Jennings Sr. and his wife Darlene, Angelia Marie Jennings, Crystal Jean Jennings, Sandra Joy Stella Leckington, Dorothy Marie Crystal Jennings, Michael Love, Bradley Love, and Stephanie Love. As well as 18 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, as well as numerous other family members. There was a special bond between him and his sister in law Julie Woodson.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday , November 28, 2005 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601-38th Ave., Moline. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. the evening prior. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island. In leiu of flowers memorials may be made to the family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Eugene John Ewoldt
