Charles Charlie O'Neil

Charles "Charlie" J. O'Neil, 84, of Moline, died on October 3, 2011 at Trinity Rock Island.
Per his wishes cremation rites have been accorded. Memorial services will be held 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 8, 2011 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601 38 Avenue, Moline. Memorials may be made to the Milan no kill Animal Shelter.
Charlie was born on January 15, 1927 in Chicago the son of Lawrence and Mary Maher O'Neil. He married Doris George in 1957 in Moline. She preceded him in death in 1993.
Charlie was employed as a brakeman for 25 years with the Rock Island Railroad. He was an Army Veteran of both WWII and the Korean Conflict. Charlie was a volunteer fire fighter with the Andover Fire Department and was the sexton of the Andover Cemetery.
