Charlotte Ann Gehn, 84, of Colona, died May 1, 2009, at Clarissa C. Cook House, Bettendorf.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 4, 2009 at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, Colona. Visitation will be from 3-6 p.m. Sunday at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Ave., Moline. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to Festival of Trees or St. John's Church of Geneseo.
Charlotte was born May 5, 1924 in Rock Island to LeRoy and Anna (Lutz) Fells. She married Alvin Gehn in February of 1945. He preceded her in death in September of 1987.
Charlotte worked in sales for Sears and was the top Illinois sales person in the hardware department. She also worked at Thymet Pest Control, Fresh Pack Candy Co. in the art department, and Hulting's Hybrids in Geneseo.
Charlotte was a charter member of Beautiful Savior and was the past president of Genseo Jr. Womens Club. She was an artist and contributor for the Festival of Trees (creating four trees after the age of 65 as well as several Christmas rooms). She helped create and design floats and also authorized a cookbook while teaching microwave cooking at Sears.
Besides being a mother to her three sons, she was a foster parent for 27 children

12 grandchildren
7 great grandchildren plus one on the way
brother Grant (Louise) Fells
She was preceded in death by her son Bruce and her sister Henrietta Zimmerman.
