Cheryl K. Bingaman, 72, of Geneseo, passed away Friday, December 22, 2023, at home. She was born December 24, 1950, in Pana, IL to the late Charles and Alberta (Allen) Jenkins. She married David R. Bingaman on December 20, 1969. Cheryl was one of Jehovah's Witnesses, Geneseo Congregation.
Cheryl was a beautiful woman inside and outside. She did not know a stranger. She could tell the best stories, offer good advice, share fun, family memories and anecdotes. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She loved people. She had many adopted children and grandchildren. She loved to share a laugh. Smiling is something she did daily. She was proud of her Native American Heritage. She loved turquoise jewelry. She enjoyed watching country western movies with John Wayne in it, and liked watching what kind of trouble Festus would get into on Gunsmoke. She enjoyed watching Elvis Presley movies. She loved spending time outside camping, collecting rocks, or sitting around the fire listening to music. She enjoyed watching the horses run during the harness races at the local county fairs--something that began when she went with her Grandpa Jack as a child. She liked to show her 1966 Ford Mustang in car shows when she had it. She enjoyed music and making music by learning to play guitar, ukelele, harmonica, spoons, or a comb with wax paper on it or by making up fun songs. She loved art you could find her sketching, drawing, or painting. She loved reading the Bible and sharing with others these hopes mentioned at Isaiah 33:24 – No more sickness, Isaiah 25:8 – No more Death, and John 5:28 & 29 – Resurrection hope. All these promises are soon to take place. She and her late husband David enjoyed helping others. Cheryl was a loving, kind, genuine, generous, honest, hard worker, faithful, loyal, and well-respected person. She was the best wife, mother, and friend a person could ask for. She set a good example for her children and grandchildren.
Cheryl is survived by her three daughters: Terri Crooker, Tara (Ed) Fliege, and Tanya Brown; grandchildren: Bret (Rachel), Britley, Brooklyn, Noah, Jacie Feldhake, Hayley (Kaiden) Lee, Darien, Jr., Katie, Ben, Jacob, and Isabella; great grandchildren: Miles, Emily, Sophira, Ariabella, and Nova.
