Cheryl L. Hawotte, 75 of Moline, entered the presence of her Savior Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at home surrounded by her loving husband and family after a 15-month battle with pancreatic cancer. She looked forward to hearing God say, “Well done my good and faithful servant!”
Funeral services will be at 11am on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at Heritage Church, Rock Island. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation will be from 4pm to 8pm Monday, May 16, 2022, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Moline. Memorials may be made to United Marriage Encounter or Heritage Church.
Cheryl L. Edmunds was born on July 26, 1946, in Macon, Missouri to Ralph and Betty (Moss) Edmunds. She graduated from UTHS in 1964. On October 21, 1966, she married Paul Hawotte in Silvis, Illinois.
Cheryl’s work life consisted of 3 segments. She was a stay-at-home Mom for 17 years, continuing to mother her children, grandchildren, and even her great grandchildren who lovingly called her GiGi. With her children in school Cheryl began a 19-year career as school secretary in East Moline. In 2003, God provided her an opportunity to work in the United Marriage Encounter home office. She spent her last 19 years as paid staff and as a volunteer presenting Team Couple alongside her husband Paul. They were privileged to travel throughout the USA and many countries in Asia and multiple trips to Australia.
Survivors, her husband Paul. Children, Kevin (Tonya) Hawotte, O’Fallon IL; Scot Hawotte, Denver CO; Angie (Pat) Flynn, Moline IL; Ben (Angela) Hawotte, Aledo IL. (bonus daughter), Amy (Paul) Spence, Rock Island IL.
Grandchildren, Ali (Alex) West, Macy (Luis) Hawotte, Kayley Miller, Ashlynn (Kole) Frenell, Tiffany (Robert) Miller, Schylar (Nick) Hawotte, Ella Spence. Jamison Hawotte, Ezekiel Rogerson, Tyler Spence, (bonus grandson) Austin Collings, Step grandchildren, Nick Flynn, Tyler Flynn, Michael Flynn.
Great grandchildren, Savannah, Addalynn, Scarlett, Brave, Paisley, Kinley, Isabella.
Sister, Ginger (Kevin) Varble; and brother, Bob (Vicki) Edmunds.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
The whole family would like to thank the Genesis Hospice Care staff for their excellent care, compassion and kindness shown to Cheryl and her family. We would like to especially thank Maggie, Cheryl’s nurse, for her kind, loving and tender care during these last months as Cheryl transitioned to Heaven.
