Chester Louis Colclasure, 87, of Moline, IL, formerly of Moscow, IA, died Thursday, October 27, 2016, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, IA.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, October 31, 2016, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline.  Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. with a Masonic Service at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 30, 2016, at the funeral home.  Per his wishes, cremation rites will follow the services and inurnment will be 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the National Cemetery at the Rock Island Arsenal, where military honors will be conducted; those wishing to attend should meet at Esterdahl by 9:15.  Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospitals or Moline OES #258.

Chester was born on March 30, 1929, in Louisville, IL, the son of Victor and Etta Colclasure.  He proudly served in the United States Army as a cook and paratrooper in occupied Japan.  He married Doris Craig on February 3, 1949, in Sullivan, IL.  Later, he married Ann Tinkham Reeder on November 3, 1995, in Green River, IL.  “Chet” was employed in machine repair for over 40 years at the former Container Corporation in Rock Island.  He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and wintering in Florida.

Chester was Past Master of the former Valley Masonic Lodge #547 in Coal Valley.  Currently, he was a member of Sherman Lodge # 535 at Orion, Past Patron of former Valley Chapter #274, Order of Eastern Star and current Worthy Patron of Moline Chapter #258, Order of Eastern Star.  Other memberships include, Scottish Rite Bodies, Moline, Kaaba Shrine, Davenport, Iowa, and Moline Thor Lodge #9 Viking Club.

Survivors include his wife, Ann Colclasure; son, David (Barbara) Colclasure, Carmel, IN; 3 grandchildren, David (Grace) Colclasure, Elaine (Ricky) Nicol, and Sherri (Jaren) McFarland; 9 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren.  He is also survived by his first wife, Doris Colclasure of Cape Coral, FL; sister, Laveta Miller, Decatur, IL; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 sisters; 4 brothers; 3 children in infancy.
