Cicely Tankersley, 76, of Moline, IL, passed peacefully Thursday, February 9, 2017, at home.
Per her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and there will be no services. Memorials may be made to any animal rescue. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Cicely was born on February 3, 1941, in Moline, IL, the daughter of Albert F. and Betty M. Seaholm Groth. She married Rex “Sweet Nothing” Tankersley on November 12, 1960, in Hernando, MS, and he preceded her in death on October 18, 2008. They spent the majority of their married lives in Memphis, TN.
Cicely was an incredibly loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. The world was a better place for all that knew her.
Survivors include her daughters, Amy and Robin Tankersley, Moline, IL, and Wendy Pratt, Hernando, MS; 4 grandchildren, Christine Drewery, Sydney Schrake, Chelsea Pratt, and Josh Pratt; 3 great grandchildren, Chace, Kamryn, and Isabelle Green; brother, Steve Groth; sister, Leslie Conwell.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
