Clara Arline Carlson, age, 93, of Bettendorf, formerly of Moline, died Saturday, July 17, 2010 at her residence at Palmer Hills, Bettendorf.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation is from 9:00-11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial is at River side Cemetery, Moline. Memorials may be made to the Moline Viking Scholarship Fund or Trinity Lutheran Church, Moline.
Clara was born September 24, 1916 in rural Fairfield, IA., the daughter of Carl and Mable (Kaliff) Nelson. She married Nels R. Carlson on April 3, 1948 in Rock Island. He preceded her in death on September 8, 1991.
Clara was employed at Service Rubber, and later at Sears, Roebuck and Co. in the clerical department for over 20 years, retiring in 1983. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Moline where she was involved in the Lydia Circle of the church. Clara was a member of the Clara Lodge, Independent Order of Vikings for over 50 years. She enjoyed cooking, and was a wonderful seamstress.

Grandchildren Robert & Richard Copley
She was preceded in death by her parents; 3 sisters, Dorothy Nelson, Ethel Stallard, Margaret Nelson; and nephew, Jim Stallard.
