Clara May VandeVoorde, 86, a current resident of Amber Ridge in Moline passed away December 5th, 20l0 at Trinity Rock Island.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 11th at Salem Lutheran Church, 1724-15th Street, Moline. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd,
6601-38th Avenue, Moline. Burial will be in Moline Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to her church, Salem Lutheran.
Clara May was born on April 19, 1924 in Louisa County, Iowa the daughter of Howard "Pete" and Nellie Connor Buster. She was raised by her step-mother Verlee Owens after the death of her mother. She married Victor "Vic" VandeVoorde on December 2, 1945 in Grandview, Iowa. He preceded her in death on April 27, 2008.
Clara was a registered nurse doing private duty from 1945 until 1965 and then performing general duty at the former Moline Public Hospital retiring in 1985 She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church and a former member of WELCA. She was previously a member of the Lincoln PTA and the 5th District Nurses Association. She was also a trustee of the Friends Circle Women's Auxiliary in Moline.

She was preceded in death by her parents, step-mother, son-in-law, David Hann, brother Lawrence "Lindy" Buster and great-granddaughter Trinity.
