Clarence A. Kruse

Clarence A. Kruse, 82 of Moline died April 7, 2005 at Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island.
Funeral services are 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 12, 2005 at Esterdahl Mortuary, Ltd. 6601-38th Ave., Moline. Visitation will be Monday from 4-7 p.m. with a Masonic service at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal with military honors conducted by Moline American Legion Post # 246. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a fund to be established.
Clarence was born October 30, 1922 in Rock Island to Clarence H.R. and Beulah Rood Kruse Rittenhouse. He graduated from Andover High School in 1939 and then went to the Cambridge High School and graduated in 1940. He married Bonnie L. Poppy on January 19, 1947 in the Andover Lutheran Church.
Clarence retired in 1983 after 25 years from John Deere Plow Planter.
During WWII, he served with the US Army in the Pacific and with the US Navy during the Korean War, serving with the 6th Fleet aboard the USS Tarawa CV40.
Clarence was a member of Bethel Wesley Methodist Church, Moline, American Legion Post #246, Moline, VFW # 2153, and Moline Lodge 1014 AF & AM and Scottish Rite & Coordinate Bodies Valley of Moline.
