Claude Sales

Claude P. Sales, 88, of Orion, passed away Thursday, June 9, 2022, at his home.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at the Esterdahl Funeral Home, Orion, 1301 4th Street, Orion.  Graveside services will take place at 1:30 p.m., at the Western Township Cemetery, in Orion.  Military services will be conducted by the Orion VFW and American Legion.

Claude was born on May 1, 1934, in Centerville, Iowa, the son of Paul and Pansy “Pearl” (Matherly) Sales.  Claude was married to Marie Gerard on April 26, 1958, in Ottumwa, Iowa.  He served his country in the United States Army from 1953 to 1956.  He worked as a machinist for Case IH in East Moline for 35 years, retiring on January 1, 1992.  Claude enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening, and the outdoors.  Claude enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and great grandkids, they all thought he was a “GREAT GRANDPA”.

Survivors include his wife, Marie of Orion, daughter Claudia (Rusty) Olson of Cambridge, daughter Lisa Sales-Timmer of Orion, daughter Tammy (David) Norberg of Osco, nine grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, sister Pauline Wignall of Oklahoma, brother Ira Lee Sales of Milan, brother Larry (Donna) Sales of Centerville, Iowa, brother Billy (Judy) Sales of Centerville, Iowa, and brother Jim (Carol) Sales of Centerville, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by parents, and three brothers.
