Clay Anderson

Clay “Boo” Anderson, 50, of Sherrard, passed away on Friday, February 7, 2025 at UnityPoint Health Trinity Rock Island.

A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, February 14, 2025 at Esterdahl Funeral Home, Orion. Visitation will from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Sherrard Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family.

Boo was born on January 8, 1975 in Moline the son of Ronald and M. Elaine Hall Anderson. He married Tracey Yates on October 9, 1999 in Sherrard.

Boo was currently employed with Lift Systems as a mechanic. He was a graduate of the 1993 class of Sherrard High School. Boo was a former member of the Sherrard Fire Department. He loved to hunt, camp and was a master at tinkering. Boo also was a coach for his daughter, Hannah’s softball team.

Boo is survived by his wife; children, Hannah Anderson, Josh (Tayler) McMeekan, Nick (Andrea) McMeekan, Hayley McMeekan and Kristin (Nolan) Robb; special grandson, Hayden McMeekan, and three other grandchildren; sister, Chris (Neal) Gauley; brother, Curt Anderson (Susan), as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister-in-law, Deb Anderson, and in-laws; Jerry and Margie Yates.
