Clovis H. Benedict, age 90, of Moline Heritage Woods, died Thursday, July 28, 2011 at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 1, 2011 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation is from 2:00-4:00 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home. Private burial is at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Colona.
Clovis was born October 23, 1920 in Ottumwa, IA, the daughter of Julius and Hazel Morehouse Krueger. She married Ellis Benedict on July 13, 1940 in Lancaster, MO.
Clovis worked for the John Morrell Company, the Rock Island Railroad, and retired from Orion High School as a matron. She was an active member of First Baptist Church in Colona. Clovis loved to paint landscapes. She played cribbage, euchre, and loved to cheat at cards.
