Clyde Arrington 88, of East Moline, Illinois entered into eternal life Sunday, May 29th, 2016 at his home after a courageous battle with pneumonia. Celebration of Life Services will be 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 9th at Tabernacle Baptist Church 2601 15th street, Moline Illinois. The family will also hold a visitation on Wednesday, June 8 from 4-7 p.m. at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th avenue, Moline. Burial will be at National Cemetery at the Rock Island Arsenal.
Mr. Arrington was born November 22, 1927 to Bodine and Lela Craft. From 1957-1959 He served in the U.S. Army. Clyde was married three times to Barbara Arrington, Helen Arrington and Shelly Arrington (1992- present). For 25 years Clyde worked for Kraft Foods/ Oscar Meyer in Davenport Iowa and valued all of the friends that he made in that time. He also was Owner of Lincoln Land Auto Sales in Moline IL for many years. He loved family, politics, and sports. Clyde was an avid supporter of Barack Obama.
His survivors include his wife Shelly Arrington of East Moline IL; sons Clyde Arrington Jr., Bradley Arrington of East Moline, daughters Cynthia Arrington of Waipio, Hawaii and Leslie Arrington, of East Moline IL. Clyde raised grandson Shanton (Michelle) Arrington, Silvis IL and stepson Thomas (Angie) Rangel, Davenport Iowa as his own sons. Clyde had 27 grandchildren, countless great grandchildren and many family members in Chicago, IL and Collins, Mississippi that he loved. A host of cousins, nieces, nephews and a lifelong friend Jim Penny; Peoria IL and Frank Pearl; Champaign IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents Bodine and Lela (Craft) House, brothers Julius C. Arrington and Edward Arrington.
