Conrad I. Wilson, 91, of Coal Valley died at sunrise Easter Morning, March 27, 2005, at St. Francis Hospital, Peoria, IL.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 3, 3:00 PM at Beulah Presbyterian Church, with visitation 1:00 - 2:45 p.m. Family and friends of Conrad may greet one another after the service in the parish hall where a light supper will be served. Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Ltd. is assisting the family.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to Beulah Presbyterian Church and/or Renewal in Christ Ministries, P. O. Box 94 East Moline, IL 61244.
Conrad was born on March 19, 1914 in Taylor Ridge, IL, the son of Henry and Mary Isabelle Wilson, He married Marion Anderson on January 8, 1938, and they were blessed to have had 67 years together. After a brief stint at International Farmal in Rock Island, Conrad and Marion purchased a farm in Rural Township, Rock Island County, in March 1938 and have farmed that land ever since.
Conrad was a member of the Arrowhead Ranch Board for many years, serving in many capacities. He was an active member of the Rock Island County Soil Conversation and applied all that he learned on his land. He was a member of Beulah Presbyterian Church serving as a member of the Session. He served on the Osco & Western Farmers Mutual Insurance Board and as a director of the Orion Fire Protection District.
Conrad is survived by his wife, Marion; two daughters and (spouses): Dorothy Ann and (Earl) Gift of Coal Valley; Judith and (the Reverend Gary) Dalmasso of East Moline; 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; sister-in-laws, Dorothy Nelson and Barbara Anderson; brother-in-law, Robert Anderson; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son William Robert, March 17, 1966; one granddaughter and one great granddaughter. The man of integrity walks securely.
