Curtis L. Tannahill, 74, of Coal Valley, died, Saturday, January 13, 2018, at Generations at Rock Island.
Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Friday, January 19, 2018, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601-38th Avenue. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. Friday prior to the services at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 20, 2018, at Zuma Cemetery in Zuma Township, where military honors will be conducted by the Moline American Legion Post 246. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
Curtis was born on June 26, 1943, in Albert Lea, MN, the son of Dwayne and Hazel (Reynolds) Tannahill. He married Maylouise “Missy” Frels on October 5, 1991 in Moline. Curtis worked as an assembler at I.H. Case, East Moline.
Curtis was a veteran, having proudly served in the United States Army. He was an UAW 1304 member and steward. Curt enjoyed his yearly hunting trips and golfing with his good friends. He liked to be outdoors and enjoyed working in his yard and his fish pond. Above all he loved being with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Maylouise; daughter, Shelly (Doug) Buller, Moline; sons, Todd (Eileen) Tannahill, Tracy, CA, Troy (Susan) Tannahill, Quincy, IL; step-daughter, Jennifer (David) Schenk, Edison, NJ; 7 grandchildren, Jeremy, Catie, Samantha, Cynthia, Christopher, Ryan and Nick; 2 great grandchildren, Selena and Valerina.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters.
