Cynthia “Cindy” Anne Deahl, age 61, died on Friday, June 21, 2019 at Clearview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Juneau, Wisconsin. Cindy was born on December 23, 1957 in Moline, Illinois, the daughter of Robert L and Mildred E (Peterson) Deahl.
Cindy attended and later graduated from Black Hawk Area Special Education District School in East Moline, IL at age 21. Cindy went on to have employment at the Opportunity Center in Moline and later, at a similar workshop in Springfield, IL. Cindy eventually moved to the Juneau, WI facility in August 2016 to be closer to her sister, Becky.
Cindy enjoyed participating in Special Olympics when she was younger and liked to play Yahtzee at Clearview, always prefacing the game with a smile, saying, “I like to cheat!” She was truly an “angel unaware” with a great sense of humor and a heart of gold.
Cindy is survived by her remaining sister, Becky Bertram; nephew Robert Kalabus (Stephanie); niece Kiersten Lynch (Darrell); niece Elizabeth Bertram (Alex); grandnieces Kaylee, Livia, Isabella, Savannah and Alexandria; grandnephews Colten, Landon and Griffen. Cindy was preceded in death by her parents, a “special mother” Carolyn Deahl (Robert), sister Susan Kalabus and nephew Christopher Bertram.
Family members, extended family members and close friends are invited to attend a memorial service for Cindy at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, June 28, 2019 at Greenview Memorial Gardens Chapel, 1201 Avenue of the Cities, East Moline, IL with interment to follow. Memorials may be made to Clearview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 198 County Road DF, Juneau, WI 53039.
