D. JoAnne Anderson

D. JoAnne Anderson, 91, formerly of Orion, passed away Wednesday October 9, 2024, at Hillcrest Home, Geneseo.

Private family services will be held. Burial is at Western Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to her family for a fund to be established. Esterdahl Funeral Home, Orion, is assisting the family.

JoAnne was born on July 10, 1933, in Swedona, Illinois, the daughter of Arndt and Dorothy (Anderson) Magnuson. She married Russell D. Anderson on February 6, 1954, at Swedona Lutheran Church. He preceded her in death on September 23, 2019.

She had worked as the former assistant to the Orion High School principal. JoAnne was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her children, Bruce (Angela) Anderson, Orion, Jeff (Vicky) Anderson, Osco, Larry (Kris) Anderson, Orion, Dorene (Troy) Smith, Harvard, Illinois; 10 grandchildren, Brad (Aubry) Anderson, Christopher (Jessica) Perley, Todd (Allison) Anderson, Stacey (Drew) Jorgensen, Travis (Megan) Anderson, Curt (Jessica) Anderson, Haley Anderson, Carlie Smith, Josh Anderson, Molly Anderson; great grandchildren, Aidan Jorgensen, Will Maher, Landon Jorgensen, Brynnley Anderson, Mason Jorgensen, Emmy Anderson, Leo Anderson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson, Craig Anderson and sister, Lois Miller.
