Daniel "Dan" Jerome Morrissey

Daniel “Dan” Jerome Morrissey, 81, of Moline, passed away April 4, 2025, at Silver Cross Health & Rehabilitation, Rock Island.

Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Tuesday April 8, 2025, with a rosary to be recited at 3:15 p.m., at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Wednesday April 9, 2025, at Christ the King Catholic Church, Moline. Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday April 9, 2025, at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Dixon, IL. Memorials may be made to Christ the King Catholic Church or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Dan was born on August 27, 1943, in Amboy, Illinois, the son of James and Marie (Doran) Morrissey. He married Patricia Greenfield in 1970, in Walton, Illinois. She preceded him in death in December of 2008. Dan was a barber and owned and operated several barber colleges, retiring in 2015. He genuinely loved his work and enjoyed connecting with former students. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and loved going to the games. Dan adored being with his family and friends.

Survivors include his sister, Eleanor Hodges, Rockford; brother, James P. Morrissey, Stuart, FL; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three brothers, one sister.
