Daniel T. Jones, 88, of East Moline died Saturday, August 12, 2017, at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis, IL.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, August 17, 2017, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Cremation rites have been accorded and the family will hold a private memorial service at a later date. Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
Daniel was born on December 18, 1928, in Davenport, IA, the son of David and Ina Brown Jones. He graduated from West Liberty High School in Iowa. He married Betty L. Harned on November 15, 1947, in Iowa City, IA. He worked as a pattern maker for Deere & Co., retiring in 1987 after 32 years.
Daniel loved his garden and the Chicago Cubs.
He leaves his wife, Betty Jones; daughter, Vicki (Keith) Hall, Bettendorf, IA; son, Larry (Cindy) Jones, East Moline, IL; 5 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; sister, Rosemary (Delbert) Swanson, Walnut, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Ron; 8 brothers; and 5 sisters.
