Darrell E. Collis, Sr, 73, of Colona, died Wednesday, October 5, 2005 at Genesis East Medical Center.
Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, October 8, 2005 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601-38th Ave., Moline. Visitation will be Friday from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.
Darrell was born September 20, 1932 in Geneseo, the son of Charles and Flora Walther Collis. He married Pebble L. Rusk on November 26, 1955 in Geneseo. She preceded him in death on May 8, 1972.
Darrell worked in shipping and receiving at HC Duke & Son in East Moline from 1972-1995. He was a WWII Army veteran. He also was a former member of the Colona American Legion. He enjoyed fishing and golfing, but he especially enjoyed the company of his family and friends.
