Daryl Lee Young, age 68, of Orion, died Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at Trinity Medical Center, West Campus, Rock Island.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at Calvary Church of the Quad Cities. Visitation is from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Monday at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Avenue, Moline. Burial will be in Rose-Lawn Memorial Estate, Moline, with military honors conducted by Moline American Legion Post #246. Memorials may be made to Calvary Church of the Quad Cities or Christ Church of Colona.
Daryl was born November 16, 1939 in Los Angeles, CA, the son of Judson G. and Mary Marie (Moe) Young. He married Diane Robbins on August 2, 1963 in Sun Valley, CA.
Daryl was employed as a sanitation engineer for the City of Moline for 27 years, retiring in 1998. He was a member of Calvary Church of the Quad Cities, and a former member of Christ Church of Colona. Daryl was previously a bus driver for the Moline Gospel Temple for 27 years. He enjoyed muscle cars, oldies music - especially the 1950's music, weightlifting, his family, and his German Shepard "Billy Joe".
