David Dorbeck

David L. Dorbeck, age 50,Davenport, Iowa died at Hammond Henry Hospital on January 17, 2006.
By his wishes, Mr. Dorbeck will be cremated. A visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. with a Masonic service at 3:15 p.m. followed by a memorial service on January 21, 2006 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Ave., Moline. Rev. Dr. Kenneth Kline from the First Christian Church, Moline will officiate. Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
David was born November 8, 1955 in Moline to Richard and Jean Livengood Dorbeck. He attended Moline schools, graduated from Rock Island High School and Moline Tool Company patternmaker apprenticeship. He married Joyce Bursott on January 1, 1975. They have three daughters: Christine (Josh) Mirfield, Jeanie Dorbeck and Lisa Dorbeck. He was the proud grandfather of five granddaughters and three grandsons.
David was a former employee of RI Arsenal and Lewis Machine Company, Milan, IL., and currently was the Director of Engineering at Armalite, Geneseo, IL.
David was a member of Brubaker Lodge, AF & AM, Scottish Rite Bodies and Kaaba Shrine, all of Davenport, in which he served in many appointive and elective offices. His other memberships include Ducks Unlimited and NRA.
Survivors include his wife Joyce, three daughters, eight grandchildren, his parents, brother Richard J. (Dawn ) Dorbeck, Jr., Washington, IL, niece and nephew, aunts, uncles and cousins.
David loved life, his family and friends and his work in Masonic Orders. He was much loved and will be sorely missed by his many friends, especially Gene Washburn, and his family.
