David M. Gallens

David M. Gallens, 67, of Cambridge, IL, passed away Tuesday January 14, 2025, at Hammond-Henry Hospital, Geneseo.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday January 21, 2025, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Monday January 20, 2025, at the funeral home. David was born October 17, 1957, in Moline, the son of Richard F. and Greta (Miles) Gallens. After 15 years together, David married his best friend, Dawn M. Berthoud, on February 11, 2015, in Henry County. He retired as an operator from Deere & Co. in 2020, after 42 years. David was a Harley Davidson enthusiast. He enjoyed traveling, camping, and was a talented woodworker. David never met a stranger and he was a devoted husband, father, and papa.

Survivors include his wife, Dawn; children, Heather (Rodrigo) Torres, Allison (Anthony) Sizemore, Shawn (Brittany McLane) Gallens, Christopher (Kristie) Berthoud, Austin Strobbe; grandchildren, Drew, Harleigh, Haiyden, Silas, Isabella, Vivian, Miaka, Ezra; sister, Diana (Timothy) Krakovec; and former spouse, Lisa (Worrall) Robinson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, maternal & paternal grandparents, and former spouse, Robin (Robbins) Jacques.
