David N. Kuehnel

David N. Kuehnel, 80, of Moline, died August 12, 2009 at Rosewood Care Center, Moline.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday, August 14, 2009 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. Visitation will be Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline with military honors conducted by Moline American Legion Post #246. Memorials may be made to Disabled American Veterans.
David was born November 25, 1928 in Moline to Alfred and Minnie (Wirth) Kuehnel. He married Marianne Barchman on March 4, 1950 at First Lutheran Church, Rock Island.
David worked for 14 years at the Rock Island Argus as the Line O' Type operator. He later worked for 13 years at CASE I.H., Bettendorf as a piece work assembler. He retired from the former Moline Public Hospital as a physical therapist aide. He worked there for eight years.
David was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran. He was involved in an Army Air Force Band while he was stationed in Guam. He was a member of the Moline Missionary Church which was the former Moline Evangelical Church and was very active in the church choir and was a song leader. He was also a church council member. In earlier times he was involved with local musicals and was in the Moline Men's Coral. He enjoyed reading and Gunsmoke was his favorite T.V. show.

Grandsons Jonathon David Reidy Green Bay, WI
Robert Fitzgerald Reidy Moline
He was preceded in death by a son Steven Ray Kuehnel, parents and three sisters and a brother.
