David L. Kuhn

David L. Kuhn, 73, of Coal Valley, passed away Sunday November 19, 2023, peacefully at his home after watching his beloved Packers win, with his cat.

Visitation will be held from 12 – 2 p.m. Saturday December 2, 2023, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 1301 4th Street, Orion. Private graveside services will be held at Glennwood Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, Coal Valley, where David was a member.

David was born on January 1, 1950, in Illinois, the son of Ralph A. and Mary R. (Rugh) Kuhn. He married Marion L. Terpening in 1980 in Galesburg. David was a veteran, having served in the Army. She preceded him in death on July 3, 2022. David was previously employed as a draftsman at John Deere and after retirement he went on to work at Oakwood Country Club, Coal Valley. He enjoyed cars and riding his motorcycle.

Survivors include his stepdaughter, Deanne Engelbrecht, Rock Island; grandson, Josh (Krystal) Engelbrecht, Tempe, Arizona; sisters-in-law, Janet (Pete) Drummond, Benld, Illinois, Marjorie Gray, Galesburg; brothers-in-law, Ed Terpening, Galesburg, Roger (Darcey) Terpening, Rio, Jerry (Kathy) Terpening, Abbeville, LA; aunt, Jackie Shattuck, Coal Valley; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marion; parents; and infant brother, Mark.
