David A. Steward, 53 of Alpha died January 2, 2005 at his home.
Rite of Christian Burial will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 5, 2004 at St. John's Catholic Church in Woodhull, IL. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Ltd., Orion. There will be a rosary following the visitation at a relatives home. Burial will be at St. John's Cemetery, Woodhull, IL. Memorials may be made to Heritage 53, Moline.
David was born March 26, 1951 in Davenport, IA to Ralph G. and Bernice (Bogaert) Steward.
David was a resident at Heritage 53 in Moline for 25 years. He was a charter resident from the opening of Heritage. He attended special education classes at AlWood Schools. He attended the Opportunity Center in Moline retiring in 2002.
David enjoyed clipping photos from magazines, helping his father with chores, bowling, movies and popcorn. He also enjoyed activities with his family and friends. He especially enjoyed Christmas and his greatest joy was giving someone a gift.
David was quite an achiever. The doctors said that he would not live one year and never walk. He lived 53 years and walked at least for 40 years.

He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his father, maternal grandparents, paternal grandparents and brother-in-law James Fredell. He was much loved and will be greatly missed. He was our special gift from Heaven above.
