Dean E. Beyhl, 88, of Moline, IL, died Friday, November 18, 2016, at home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home, with an additional visitation from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal with military honors conducted by Moline American Legion Post 246. Memorials may be made to your favorite charity in his honor.
Dean was born on November 16, 1928, in Stockton, IL, the son of Fred G and Mary Wilhelmina Graf Beyhl. He married Berniece L Beebe on July 3, 1954 in Dubuque, IA.
Dean was first employed at A.Y. McDonalds in Dubuque, IA. He retired from John Deere Harvester as a time study engineer in 1983 after 21 years.
Dean was a member of First Congregational Church and Union Congregational Church in Moline. He was a U.S, army veteran. Dean was a Babe Ruth umpire, and a member of the Moline American Legion for 43 years. He enjoyed amateur athletics, traveling, genealogy, and was an avid Iowa Hawkeye and Chicago Cub fan.
Survivors include his wife, Berniece Beyhl; children, Ralph (Barb) Beyhl, St. Petersburg, FL; Keith (Carol) Beyhl, East Moline; Nancy (Chris) Malmloff, Moline; grandchildren, Logan (Ariel), Cody, Alexis (Matt), Jeremy (Jayme) ; great granddaughter, Norah; 3 sisters, Lolly Goedert, Sally Hass both of Dubuque, IA,, Karen (Don) Heath , Coon Rapids, MN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Fred; sisters, Madelyn, Doris and Adele; half brother and half sister, Willard and Alice.
