Deborah Sue Aitken, 67, of Moline, passed away Sunday, December 5, 2021, at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline.
Funeral services will be held at Noon, Thursday, December 9, 2021, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Visitation will be from 10 a.m., until service time on Thursday. Cremation will take place following services and inurnment will be at Rose Lawn Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Association.
Deborah was born on January 5, 1954, in Moline, the daughter of Harlan and Frances (Meincke) Parker. She attended United Township High School. Deb married Steven T. Aitken on September 3, 1977, in Milan. She was a member of Grace Bible Fellowship in Moline, where she volunteered as a food pantry worker. She was previously employed by Trinity Hospital. Deb spent many years babysitting in her home and later as a caregiver to the elderly. She also enjoyed spending her time crocheting, playing Bingo, and being with her cats.
Survivors include her husband, Steve, sons, Dale Thayer, New Orleans, LA, and Jeremey Aitken, Peru, IL; brothers, Ronnie (Leta) Parker, Buffalo Prairie, and Roger (Carol) Parker, Fresco, TX.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Bruce Parker and Nancy Bell.
The family would like to thank Deborah’s caregivers at Active Day, Manor Care, and Hope Creek and their Alzheimer’s unit, and Heartland Hospice, for the care and compassion given to Deborah.
Memories may be shared on the tribute wall.
