Delphine L. Alstad, 89, resident of Good Samaritan, Geneseo formerly of East Moline died June 12, 2007 at Good Samaritan in Geneseo.
A memorial service will be 11a.m Saturday, July 14, 2007at First Covenant Church, Moline. Burial of cremains will be at Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery, Fergus Fall, MN. Memorials may be made to First Covenant Church, Moline. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. is assisting the family.
Delphine was born November 19, 1917 in Arriba, CO to Oscar and Vera (Farquhar) Hillenkamp. She married Kenneth Alstad on July 3, 1941 in Los Angeles, CA. He preceded her in death in April of 1976.
Delphine received her nursing degree from Bethel Nursing School in Colorado Springs, Co. She started her nursing career in Los Angeles at the Methodist Hospital where she met her husband. They then moved to Hermosa Beach, CA and then to Fergus Fall MN where she was employed at Fergus Falls Hospital in the Surgical Dept. and the Obstetrics Dept. She retired in 1982 from the former Lutheran Hospital in Moline.
Delphine was a member of First Covenant Church where she belonged to the women's circle of the church.
She was also a Befriender with the former Lutheran Hospital. She enjoyed gardening, needlework and reading.
She is survived by
