Denny Minear, age 64, of Sherrard, died Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at his home.
Visitation is from 2:00-6:00 p.m. Sunday, August 8, 2010 at the family home, 2991 157th Avenue, Sherrard. Memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. is assisting the family.
Denny was born August 29, 1945 in Pittsfield, IL, the son of Leonard and Leta Grisham Minear. He married Charlene Roberts. He later married Lorrie (Dillie) Koprucki on October 14, 2000 in Las Vegas.
Denny was a Marine veteran having served during the Vietnam War. Denny was employed as a Service Manager at Reno Goodyear Vulcanizing until 1984. During this time he was a member of the Air National Guard. He then went to Calgon Vestal Laboratories and was a Territory Sales Manager until 1987. Until 1990 he was employed with Brulin Corporation as a Territory Sales Manager. He then went to Oakite Products and worked as a Technical Sales Representative until 2001. He then became the owner of Magna Chemicals retiring in 2003. He was then employed as a part time bus driver for the Sherrard School District later moving to the position of Director of Transportation. Denny was a member of the Viola American Legion. He enjoyed golf,horses, hunting, and fly fishing. He was a Hawkeye and Cardinal fan.
