Diane Butcher

Diane Butcher, 83, of Moline, passed away Tuesday March 11, 2025, at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at the 15th Ave Christian Church, Rock Island. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, March 24, 2025, at Esterdahl Mortuary and Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Interment will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children and/or the 15th Ave Christian Church, Rock Island.

Diane was born on January 7, 1942, in Moline, the daughter of Oscar Dunlap and Sylvia Hull. She married Leon G. Butcher on January 11, 1963, at the First Christian Church, Moline. He preceded her in death on July 1, 2011.

Diane was a member of the 15th Ave Christian Church. She loved family gatherings, enjoyed her Wednesday meals at Village Inn, and treasured sharing meals with her grandchildren. Diane cherished her special trips with her husband, especially to Hawaii. Diane worked as a crossing guard, helping kids safely get to and from school for the City of Moline at Hamilton for 24 years, retiring in 2005.

Survivors include her children, Tracey (Wayne) Leffel, Scot (Julie) Butcher, Darren (Michelle) Butcher, and Ryan (Sarah) Butcher; grandchildren, Torry (Jessica) Leffel, Morgan (James) Matson, Tyler (Carly) Leffel, Bradley (Madelyn) Butcher, Mitchell (Miranda) Butcher, Trevor Johnson, Devin Butcher, Seth Butcher, Cal Butcher, and Molly Butcher; great-grandchildren, Jaeci, Tinleigh, Decker, Penelope, Iris, and one on the way in July; brother, Roger (Joan) Dunlap and sister, Pat Wassenhove; sister-in-laws, Mable Carlson and Alice Lyons; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; infant daughter, Paula Jean; parents; great-grandchild Rosalynn; numerous brothers, sisters, and other family members.
