Dianne L. Miner, 69, of Coal Valley, died Sunday, October 11, 2015, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, IA.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, October 16, 2015, at Faith Lutheran Church, 1611 41st Street, Moline, IL. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, October 15, 2015, at the church. Burial will be at Coal Valley Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Faith Lutheran Church and WDLM Christian Radio Station. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline is assisting the family with arrangements.
Dianne was born on July 3, 1946, in Moline, IL, the daughter of D'James and Wilma Frances Hull Plunkett. She married Clark Ross Miner on September 25, 1965, in Orion, IL. Together, they co-owned Clark R. Miner Construction, Inc. She was also a bridal consultant for Wedding Corner in Moline and a homemaker for her family.
Dianne loved to travel - especially to Ireland to learn about her Irish heritage. She took a mission trip to Africa which inspired her and others to organize HOPE for Tanzania, raising funds and supplies to support a girl's school and hospital in Arusha. She was a Member of PTA, Eastern Star, and Oakwood Country Club for 17 years. Dianne was also a member of Faith Lutheran Church and she enjoyed Bible studies with Christian Women's Club. Dianne loved entertaining, taking in foreign exchange students, and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her loving husband, Clark; daughters, Paige (Scott) Swayne, Carver, MN, and Krista (Todd) Rittenhouse, Orion, IL; son, Jason (Susan) Miner, Golden, CO; grandchildren, Austin Swayne, Hannah Swayne, Logan Swayne, Emma Swayne, Claire Rittenhouse, William Rittenhouse, Chloe Rittenhouse, Daniel Rittenhouse, Vivian Miner, and Audrey Miner; sisters; Deborah (Rudy) Vallejo, Robyn (Gary) August and Rhonda (Dale) Holgersson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, step father, Veryl D. Cole, and brother, Gregory Plunkett.
