Dominic A. Armetta, 83, of Moline, died February 20, 2008 at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 25, 2008 with a visitation hour prior at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Ave., Moline. Entombment will be at Moline Memorial Park. Military honors will be conducted by the Moline American Legion Post # 246. Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
Dominic was born July 25, 1924 in Rock Island to Giacomo and Rosaria (Amato) Armetta. He married Natalie Biscontine on July 10, 1954 in Rock Island.
Dominic was an electrical engineer for the former IA/IL Gas and Electric Co. (currently Mid American) retiring in July of 1989.
Dominic was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was very interested in current news events and politics. He was an avid Cubs fan and enjoyed gardening. He loved the ocean and wintering in Myrtle Beach, SC. He also loved visiting with his grandkids.
