Donald L. Bowman, 82, of Orion, died December 29, 2006 at his home.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 2, 2007 at Swedona Lutheran Church. Visitation will be Monday from 2-6 p.m. at Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Ltd., Orion. Burial will be in Swedona Lutheran Cemetery with military rites conducted by Orion VFW #143. Memorials may be made to the family.
Donald was born June 7, 1924 in Lynn Center, IL to Walter and Myra Peterson Bowman. He married Geneva Parker on April 15, 1961 in Galesburg, IL.
Donald was a machinist working for John Deere retiring on January 31, 1985. Prior to becoming a machinist he owned Coal Valley Gun Club and Green Acres Motel and Restaurant.
Donald was an Army Air Force Veteran serving from 1943-1946. He was a member of Drift Busters (snowmobile club, Orion), Mississippi Valley Coon Hunters Association and Orion VFW # 143. He enjoyed golfing, snowmobiling, hunting, and racing dogs.
