Donald Lloyd Lawson, age 71, of Moline, died Saturday, May 17, 2008 at Trinity Medical Center, West Campus, Rock Island.
Cremation rites will be accorded. A memorial service will be held 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2008 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation is from 4:00-6:00 p.m. prior to the service. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.
Donald was born August 21, 1936 in Missouri, the son of Lloyd and Bernice (Cleeton-Lindsay) Lawson. He married Norma Jean Tawney on August 8, 1958 in Davenport. She preceded him in death on May 1, 1998. He later married Barbara Wyant on September 15, 1999 in San Diego.
Donald graduated from Rock Island High School and Baptist Bible College in Springfield, MO. He served as pastor for several churches in southern California, and retired from Bethel Baptist Church in El Cajon, CA. Donald was an active member of Edgewood Baptist Church, Rock Island.
