Donald F. Palmer, Jr., 69, of Moline, IL, died Monday, October 23, 2017, at Genesis Medical Center – Silvis Campus, Silvis, IL.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, November 3, 2017, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Cremation rites have been accorded and inurnment will be at Candor Cemetery in Mercer County, IL, at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Rock Island Conservation Club in Milan for future youth fishing activities.
Donald was born on May 9, 1948, in Rock Island, IL, the son of Donald F. and Ellen “Sis” Hines Palmer, Sr. He married Donna J. Ford on September 24, 1966, at Cable Community Church. He worked as a Shear Operator for Case I.H., retiring after 33 years.
Donald enjoyed fishing and loved spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Palmer, Moline, IL; daughters, Deanna Mohr (Will), Moline, IL, and Dawn Rosenthal, Trenton, MO; 12 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 4 brothers; 3 sisters.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers.
