Donna Knudson

Donna M Knudson, 89, of Moline, passed away Thursday, February 16, 2023, at Aspen Rehab and Healthcare, Silvis.

Visitation will be at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 19, 2023, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd, Moline with a memorial service to follow at 3:00 p.m.  Inurnment will be at Rock Island National Cemetery at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for distribution to Donna’s favorite charities.

Donna was born on May 27, 1933, in Nora Spring, IA, the daughter of Emmon and Hazel (Cooper) Engleman. She married James “Jim” Knudson Sr. on August 23, 1952, in Mason City, IA. He preceded her in death on August 11, 2008. Donna worked as a licensed beautician at home while raising her children. She then worked at the Rock Island Arsenal, retiring in 1993. She was a master seamstress and had a love for quilting and knitting. Donna enjoyed fishing, camping, and gardening. Donna was a member of Homewood Evangelical Free Church in Moline. At church she was involved with Sunday School and several Bible study groups. Donna’s family meant the world to her, and she loved to spend time with them.

Survivors include her children, Ronald (Heather) Knudson, Moline, James (Lourdes) Knudson Jr., Joliet, IL Cindy (David) Sheil, East Moline; grandchildren, Venita (Sean) Granere, Katy, TX, Jacob (Sara) Palmer, O’fallon, IL, Shelby (Mark) Gosney, Moline, Corynn Knudson, Plainfield, IL; great grandchildren, Gentri, Jadyn, Gunner, Andrea, Elissa, Savannah, Ava, Matthew; and brother, Jack Engleman.

She was preceded in death by her husband, grandson, Daniel Knudson, 6 sisters, and 5 brothers.
