Donna Marie Peterson

Donna Marie Peterson, 91 of East Moline, died on Monday, June 20, 2011 at Illini Restorative Care in Silvis.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 27, 2011 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made in Donna Marie Petersons' name for a fund to be established.
Donna Marie was born on January 1, 1920 in LeRoy, Minnesota, the oldest of 5 children, to George E. and Esther Soderberg Swanson. She attended Andover Primary School and graduated from Orion High School. She married Russell W. Peterson on November 10, 1946 in Osco, Illinois. They were married for over 53 loving years when he preceded her in death on June 01, 2000.
In her early years Donna Marie was a professional housekeeper and cook for an affluent Moline family. She also sold Avon for many years in the Rock Island Area earning many awards of distinction for her efforts.
Donna Marie was a faithful servant at the Memorial Heights Methodist Church in Rock Island for most of her adult life and was most recently blessed with pastoral care from Christ United Methodist Church in East Moline where she was currently a member. Donna was an active member of the Kings Daughters for many years. She enjoyed painting and collecting dolls. She and Russell were avid dancers and enjoyed traveling the world. She was a member of the Svithoid Club and the Viking Club. She was loved by her family and was extremely proud of her Swedish heritage.
